as far as I know,there are only two 51 Mercs in Indonesia.
and the one I have is the first one that will got chopped.
so it is very Important for me to meet one of the first guy in the World that Chopped a 51 Mercury.
The man is George Barris.
With his brother Sam, he drove a brand new 51 mercury from the dealer straight to their shop.
back in 1951.
and chopped it !!
as you may know.... 51 Merc have a different rear window than the 49-50.
we talked for hours about his ideas, fabricating , chopping...
and proportions....
not all chopped merc got a good proportion..
